Koite Health: Looking Ahead
As more dental clinics and healthcare providers offer Lumoral technology to their patients, Koite Health is poised to further revolutionize the industry with its focus on both preventive care and effective treatment options for patients facing oral health issues such as serious gum infections, periodontitis and peri-implantitis.
This recognition as one of the fastest-growing companies underscores Koite Health’s potential and the significant role it will play in shaping the future of preventive oral healthcare. With a focus on improving patient outcomes and accessibility, Koite Health is committed to continuing its momentum and contributing to the global fight against oral health issues that have been tied to a number of systemic illnesses such as diabetes.
Antibacterial Lumoral treatment enhances the effectiveness of toothbrushing and plays a key role in managing gum diseases by reducing plaque and balancing harmful bacteria.
Timo Sorsa, Professor at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Diseases at the University of Helsinki, describes the novel antibacterial treatment as a "drug-free alternative" for treating and preventing severe gum disease. This is especially important as World Antibiotic Resistance Awareness Week celebrated this week serves as a reminder of the need for responsible antibiotic use and the development of non-antibiotic solutions.
“When administered regularly, Lumoral treatment specifically targets and reduces anaerobic bacteria, which are often the primary culprits in periodontal diseases. This approach lowers the risk of periodontitis, peri-implantitis, and even dental caries," explains Professor Sorsa.
"By decreasing these risks, patients are less likely to require drugs traditionally used to treat gum disease, such as antibiotics and chlorhexidine. This helps also reduce the risk of antibiotic resistance and associated side effects.”
